  1. India`s first Radial Rotablation ( drilling through coronary as part of Angioplasty ) done by Dr Sanjay Chugh
  2. First Angioplasty using Slender Tube < 3 mm done in the world outside Japan by Dr Chugh in 2013
  3. Dr Chugh launched India`s first Slender Trans Radial Angioplasty Club on July 4th 2013
  4. First walk in walk out Day care Radial Angioplasty Unit at Medical College Bikaner where patients went home in 2.5 hours after Angiography.
  5. First Radial lounge of Gurgaon started by Dr Sanjay Chugh 2009 and first Radial Lounge of Eastern India started by Dr Chugh in 2015. After Angiography and Angioplasty patient can sit in the lounge , enjoy beverages, watch TV and surf the net before discharge home.
  6. World`s first distal transradial PTCA LIVE CASE for ACS , 2 cases done in April 2017 at Radial Live 2017, at Jaipur National University and Medical College, Institute for Medical Sciences and Research Center, Jaipur, India. Attended by leading radial operators from India and the USA.
  7. Performed first transradial angioplasty and set up the first ever transradial program at Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, India.
  8. Performed first angiogram, first angioplasty, first primary angioplasty in heart attack, first transradial angiogram, first transradial angioplasty and first interventional workshop with first live case at FMRI, Gurgaon
  9. Reached out and performed Angiograms/ PTCA,pacemakers in semi-urban areas of Bikaner, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Hisar, Panipat, Moradabad and Agra , together with cardiology consultation to various remote areas.

  12. 1st Angiogram,1st PTCA, of Hisar; at Escorts Hisar Cath lab, Hisar,Haryana, India
  13. 1st Transradial in Bikaner at  Medical College, in India`s 1st mobile cath lab of Escorts Heart Institue, New Delhi, and first mobile cath lab of India flagged off by The Hon’ble President of India, Dr Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed.
  14. For the first time in the world, patients were discharged home after 2.5hrs after transradial angiograms by Dr Chugh at Bikaner Medical College, Rajasthan, India. Paper Presented at SCAI ,USA, 2004.
  15. 1st Transradial PTCA of Lucknow (at King George Medical College, King George Medical University, Lucknow, India).
  16. World`s first hypothesis on invasive assessment of myocardial viability , Chugh`s hypothesis, published in British Journal of Cardiology 2000, quoted in Circulation 2001.
  17. World`s first Chugh`s sheath sizing protocol and Chugh`s radial artery spasm grading published in Catheterization and cardiovascular interventions 2012.
  18. For the first time in the world, PRIMAFACIE TRI study of which he was PI, showed that pre-procedure ultrasound can reduce risk of procedure failure, spasm and radiation exposure in transradial angiograms and interventions.
  19. Publiished the world`s first series on complex PCI in small radials using slender techniques(IHJ 2017, and India Live update 2018) .
  20. Published the world`s first series on transradial interventions via distal radial access in anatomical snuffbox in patients with small radials.(DATA STAR study, IHJ, 2020) .
  21. Performed the country`s first overseas TRANSRADIAL LIVE CASE transmission at Transradial Masterclass, UK,2011;
  22. Represented India at Transcatheter Therapeutics in Washington DC, USA, and invited Faculty talk by Dr Sanjay Chugh on Role of pre-procedure imaging in transradial interventions in 2011
  23. Represented India at Annual conference of Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions,  and invited Faculty talk by Dr Sanjay Chugh on ` Choice of Guiding catheter in transradial interventions :what shape, what size?`.Baltimore, Maryland,USA In 2011
  24. Represented India at Transradial Masterclass, UK {Manchester}and invited Faculty talk by Dr Sanjay Chugh on ` Transradial Interventions in small individuals ` & other topics(2009-2013).
  25. Represented India at Transradial Masterclass, UK {Manchester}and  live transradial angioplasty by Dr Sanjay Chugh, transmitted by satellite from India to UK as part of workshop   ,2011.
  26. Published paper in Catheterization and Cardiovascular interventions July 2013  on ”Feasibility and Utility of pre-procedure ultrasound imaging .
  27. TCT,2019: Invited lecture. Debate in favor of Transradial is superior to transfemoral for primary PCI. Won by 76:24 votes in audience poll.
